PROJECT ST PATRICK'S
Latest news:
The work on the church roof is now underway (scroll to the bottom of this page for more information on our restoration project), with a finishing date of 15 December 2010 - just in time for Christmas (we hope)! Scaffolding is currently being erected, and full scale work should begin by the end of this week.

This meansthat we will need to make some changes to church opening; these will be as follows:
  • Weekend Masses will be unaffected, and will continue to be celebrated in the church
  • Weekday Masses and other morning services will be celebrated in the church, but at an altar at the rear of the building.
  • PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR THE DURATION OF THE WORK, THE CHURCH WILL BE CLOSED ON WEEKDAYS EXCEPT FOR MASS AND OTHER SERVICE TIMES.
  • We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause while this very necessary work is being carried out.
Meanwhile, fundraising goes on...click here for reports on our sponsored walk from Strathblane to Schoenstatt, held on Saturday 29 August 2010.
St. Patrick's, Anderston is a Roman Catholic Parish of the Archdiocese of Glasgow, one of three in the Archdiocese dedicated to St. Patrick, who, as well as being the patron saint of Ireland, is also a secondary patron of the Archdiocese of Glasgow.
Inside, you will find information about the parish today, as well as something of its history. We also try to provide useful links to other websites, as well as contact information.
Do come back and visit our site again; we hope to be able to develop it much further, and your comments will be much appreciated.

Exciting news in recent weeks means that we have now exceeded our target for fundraising for PHASE 1 of Project St. Patrick, and can begin immediately to look at PHASE 2.
This has been made possible through a great deal of work done by parishioners and by friends and supporters of St. Patrick's parish, and through some very generous grants made by Trusts and Funds. The latest, from the Landfill Scheme, has been a tremendous award of £78,385!

The Story of St. Patrick's
1950 - 2010

know anyone here?

Fr. Lynch with school pupils. (At least one person other than Fr. Lynch has been identified: let us know if you recognise anyone else)

A weel-kent face from the past!

Do these images bring back memories? We are compiling a history of St. Pat's and are looking for reminiscences and photographs to form part of it. If you have a story to tell about the church, schools, societies etc., please share it with us. or ring Vince on 07833137075. Contact details for Fr Hill can be found by clicking here
More images can be seen in the church, along with some extracts from newspaper articles.

Recollections of the fifties would be especially welcome as would stories about favourite teachers, priests etc.
Do you remember Sister Mary Stanislaus? Have you a photograph of her?
What were the experiences of those who left Anderston in the regeneration programme of the sixties? Did some come back? How about Golden Weddings?
Were both you and your parents married in St Pat’s? Photographs of First Communions, Confirmations, Weddings?
The generosity of people and priests; the hard work of parishioners.
Stories of happy times, sad times, big things, small things – all are part of the history of this great parish and you can help write it.
